One of the perks of being a Science Teacher is that I often get students leaving 'treasures' on my desk or running up to me in the playground to show me an insect wing or exoskeleton they found. The other day though, Archie bought me something SOOO exciting! A moth the size of a small bird!
After doing a Google Image search to find out what type of moth it was, we discovered it was a Bogong moth, not typically found in northern Australia! So of course the next Science lesson we had to find out more about this fascinating insect. We discovered that it is an endangered species due to the fact that the temperature of caves where they hibernate is increasing due to climate change.
Tis is what Science is all about! Asking questions and being curious about the environment around you. Thanks Archie!
