Clinton Walker from Ngurrangga Tours led the day for us at the Yaburara trail teaching our lucky students all about spinifex, resin, hunting hides and rock art. Each of our students even got to learn how to braid sedge grass, making it into string which we used to make our own special spears!
This two-way Science program teaches students the link between Aboriginal knowledge and modern day scientific knowledge and is supported by the @CSIRO and Education WA
Our Year 1 - 6 students at Tambrey Primary are very fortunate to have these experiences. Thank you to our sponsor Pilbara Real Estate for supporting this initiative, and parent helpers Tim Hall, Andrew Latimer and Eavanne Hillis for helping out on the day. Our incredible video clip was also created by parent helper Rebecca Brooks.
Thanks also to Chevron & Tambrey Primary School P&C
